Exclusive Production:
Elijah: First Action Hero

A tale of a prophet’s pursuit of social justice

Join the JCC for an exclusive showing of the one-man play by Marcus J Freed and Raphael Zarum, Elijah: First Action Hero. Elijah is a comic play about a heroic prophet who is unrelenting in his desire for social justice.

There’s something rotten in the state of Ancient Israel. King Ahab and Queen Jezebel have led the land to ruin by mistreating farm workers, stealing from the economy and enforcing widespread idol-worship. The prophet Elijah appears to announce that there will be a drought until the people change their ways and pursue a more just society. Nobody wants to take responsibility and a civil war erupts. The chaos continues until a new prophet appears to guide the people forward, creating a society that is just and fair. Elijah: First Action Hero is truly a story for today.

Following the performance we’re delighted that the show’s star and co-writer, Marcus J Freed, and Charlotte Borger from Divine Chocolate, the UK’s first Fairtrade kosher chocolate company, will be discussing the issues the play raises and taking questions from the audience.
