MEDIEVAL JEWRY - WALK AND QUIZ

Discover the hidden tales of medieval Jewry with City of London Guide, Andrew Brown.

Get the full story, on a fascinating, shocking and enlightening journey through the streets of the Old City, and uncover the secret history of a lost community.

The tour will be followed by a pub quiz where we’ll find out who has been paying attention... and of course there will be a prize for the winner.

Andrew Brown runs showmethesquaremile, a specialist walk events company.

This is an Olive event. To find out more, and to sign up for email updates, click here.

WHITECHAPEL

In and around Commercial Road you can still find reminders of the vibrant Jewish community who lived and worked there. Join JCC favourite Blue Badge Guide Rachel Kolsky on the streets which evoke memories of street markets, medical missions and the Yiddish theatre.

We will visit Cable Street – the site of the battle against the fascists, but also home to Dr Hannah Billig, the Angel of Cable Street. Another treat will be visiting Nelson Street Synagogue; dating from 1923 this is one of the last remaining East End synagogues and is opening up specially for our tour.

This is an Olive event. To find out more, and to sign up for email updates, click here.
