Solomon: King, Poet & Lover

This raucous rollercoaster of a play was written by Marcus J Freed and Raphael Zarum and has toured to 15 countries. Described by Joseph Telushkin as ‘smart, utterly original and deeply insightful’, Solomon explores the life of the man who built the first Temple in Jerusalem, wrote three books of the Bible, established peaceful borders throughout Israel and kept 700 wives. After the performance the playwrights will have a discussion and take questions.

Marcus J Freed trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art and has been acting for ten years. He broadcasts regularly for BBC Radio 2’s Pause for Thought, and has filmed commercials for Sony-Ericcson and voiceovers for Pacino’s Merchant of Venice and the forthcoming feature Eichmann. In recent years he has developed Bibliyoga®, a technique for exploring spirituality through the body. His other plays include Elijah: First Action Hero and The Madness of King Saul, and he regularly directs corporate theatre with his company City Drama.
