Step up and sing – this is your chance to be a star for the day…
Join pension-drawing singing sensations The Zimmers for an afternoon filled with song...
How does it work?
Sign up to one of three workshops, and then (if your vocal chords are happy
to perform) take part in the big sing off. Or… just come along to
watch the Big Sing Off and vote for your favourite performance.
Tim Samuels, Culture Show presenter, and founder of the Zimmers, will guide us through the almighty singing show down which includes special performances from Jonah and the Whalers, the Jewish Care Choir and - of course - headline act The Zimmers. This will be an afternoon not to be missed.
In association with Sing the Nation and Jewish Care.
Workshops:
Beginners’ class with Daliah Sherrington: Learn the basics of singing including breathing, vocal exercises, posture, how to use your voice and lots of handy tips. By the end you’ll have learnt a song for your group to perform together in the sing off. Max: 30 people.
Kvetch choir with Jonny Berliner: If you like to kvetch and you like to sing (whether you can or not) then this is the workshop for you. Email
us your complaints and songwriter Jonny Berliner will put them to music. Then come along to learn the song and perform it at the sing off. Max: 30 people.
Children’s sing-along with Jenny Kossew: A
workshop for children aged 5-10, Jenny will teach an array of
sing-along songs. The Zimmers and the Jewish Care choir will
join in too to create some intergenerational musical magic to
be performed at the sing off. Max: 30 people.
Also see: Neil
Gaiman in conversation with Naomi Alderman which follows this
