Noa and The Idan Raichel Project
The JCC will present an evening of the best of music from Israel. International sensation Idan Raichel, whose self-titled first album sold record numbers of copies in Israel, will perform for the first time in central London with the fabulous Ethiopian and Arabic Israeli musicians who have inspired and influenced his music.
We will also present Israeli star Noa (Achinoam Nini) as part of this double bill. Noa, who wowed audiences in 2001 at the Barbican, is Yemeni by origin and brings these ethnic roots into her beautiful jazz and singer-songwriter lyrics. A prolific musician, Noa has recorded numerous albums, and collaborated with international artists including Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana, Sheryl Crow and Bustan Avraham.
Daphna Sadeh and The Voyagers will
play a pre-show gig in the foyer at the Queen Elizabeth Hall
from 5.45pm. Daphna’s music is inspired by Jewish, Middle
Eastern and Mediterranean cultures, with added influences of
Jazz, traditional Sephardic and Klezmer traditions. Supported
by the Israeli Ministry of Culture and the Zionist Federation.
