In 2007, the JCC together with the Pears Foundation
brought Ruth Messinger, President of the American Jewish World
Service and founder of the Save Darfur Coalition, to London to
speak about the unfolding genocide in Darfur. One year on we
revisit the issue to find out how much has changed and what
impact activists are having on the campaign.
Hear from Dr James Smith, Chief
Executive of the Aegis Trust, Brendan Cox, Director
of Crisis Action and Hannah Weisfeld, Social
Action and Campaigns Coordinator for the JCC. The panel will
be chaired by Rachel Grunwald, founder of the
activist arts group Act for Darfur. They will discuss the situation
on the ground today, how the international community is responding,
and how activists are tapping into their skills to bring the
plight of Darfur to the people.
